My current interests lie in understanding how sound affects matter as well as the effects of vibrations on caustic reflections. The music is synthesized from analog circuitry that layers on top of one another creating interference. Light affects the circuits resulting in autogenerative sound-scapes with little predictability. Other forms of music generation utilizes loop pedals with 50-100’s of layers that evolve over 10-45 minutes. The music synthesis itself is part of a performance that can rarely be fully reproduced.
Eric Shows and I had an art installation “Transforms” where we examined the effects of ultra-bright white light on a highly reflective film using photoresistive oscillators to transform the light into sound.
